The search is on for a new cohort of boys and girls to take part in this year's Maypole Celebration in Wellow.

The annual event is celebrating its 100th milestone this year and the Wellow Maypole Committee is inviting parents from all the surrounding areas to a registration event at Wellow Memorial Hall on Tuesday 14th March between 9am and 10am or 6pm and 7pm.

A spokesperson for the Wellow Maypole Committee said: "Seeing children dance around the Maypole with coloured ribbon is a spectacular scene on May Day.

"We're always looking for the next generation of children to take part and become our next May Queen or King."

Children will be expected to join six Maypole Practice events in the evenings running up to May Day 2023.
